Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body, stimulating neurological responses and accessing the body's own innate healing ability. This can provide some immediate relief, but is most effective when performed in a series of treatments as part of a plan to achieve a specific outcome. Concerns addressed can range from minor or recent conditions, to long standing or systemic ailments. See conditions treated for more information, or feel free to email me or schedule a phone consultation with more questions.

Massage

Massage therapy is an important part of a holistic and integrative health practice. Massage can be used for a variety of purposes from relaxation, recovery and stress relief, to pain reduction, assisting in injury prevention and increasing mobility. Massage combined with other treatments such as acupuncture and cupping can be helpful in assessing areas to be addressed and quality of muscle tension.

Cupping

Cupping uses glass or plastic cups to create suction on the skin. This suction increases circulation, reduces muscle tension and fascial adhesions, reduces inflammation and calms the nervous system. Cupping can be applied stationary on the body for a few to several minutes or slid along the skin, depending on the affect desired.

Herbs

Herbal medicine is usually prescribed in formulas based on each individual's symptoms and needs. The detailed information given during a consultation is used to create a diagnosis and identify the appropriate treatment, including an herbal prescription. Herbs can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with other modalities. Herbs can enhance the treatment and prolong its benefit, as well as help to create and maintain overall wellness.

Gua sha, reiki, aromatherapy, etc.

Gua sha, reiki, and aromatherapy are just a few accessory techniques that can be used during treatment to address individual needs and enhance the effect of treatment.

Gua sha is a scraping technique that addresses superficial level muscle and fascial restrictions. Like cupping, it increases circulation and can help to relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Reiki is a form of energy work that seeks to balance chakra energy, relaxing the body and mind. Reiki can be performed with gentle or no touch and works well with other forms of treatment.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils individually or in combination to create a sense of peace and well-being in addition to smelling great!
